Tiger founder to bring ÏDKIDS to the UK
According to The Guardian, Philip Bier has secured a franchise deal with French retailer ÏDKIDS and will open the first UK store under the same name next month.
ÏDKIDS operates eight brands including children’s clothing brands Okaïdi and Jacadi and the Oxybul educational toy brand. The company has 1,200 stores around the world.
Bier is understood to have established a company with his brother called Biers Brothers which will look to bring new retail brands to the UK.
Bier told The Guardian: “We want to be the preferred partner for foreign retailers who want to enter the UK. The ambition is to have six brands in five years’ time.”
The first UK ÏDKIDS store will open in the Southside Shopping Centre in London’s Wandsworth. The store will sell both the Okaïdi and Oxybul brands.
Having opened the first Tiger store in the UK in 2005, Bier sold his stake in the business last year.
