The Shop at Bluebird to launch store in London's Covent Garden
Due to open in early 2018, the 15,000 square foot space will house two dedicated retail floors and a large restaurant on the second floor.
The new signing is the latest addition to the street’s line-up of luxury tenants and will anchor the Western end of the street. The Shop at Bluebird will join Agnès B, Diptyque and Paul Smith as well the forthcoming UK flagship store for Kent & Curwen.
Peter Ruis, chief executive of The Jigsaw Group, said: “The Shop at Bluebird is London’s foremost concept store. In Carriage Hall, and Covent Garden we have found the ultimate opportunity to take it to the next level. In a world full of mediocre, identikit shop concepts, the Shop at Bluebird will be a celebration of only the finest in luxury fashion, beauty, home, lifestyle and food. It will be an international destination for all those that seek excellence in retail.”
The recent refurbishment of 19th century Grade II listed Carriage Hall is the latest phase of the redevelopment of Floral Street. The Carriage Hall has been converted from office use to contemporary retail space that includes a double height glass atrium.
Michelle McGrath, director of Capco Covent Garden, said: “The Shop at Bluebird is the perfect fit for Carriage Hall and Floral Street which is returning to its fashion and lifestyle roots. Their retail excellence and curated luxury will set the store apart and complements our vision for Covent Garden, where we are creating a differentiated lifestyle location for our visitors. Along with other British heritage brands such as Kent & Curwen and Paul Smith, the signing further enhances Floral Street as a world class address.”
