The Pet Hut teams up with PDSA
The Pet Hut is introducing PDSA’s PetCheck programme, the charity’s free pet wellbeing initiative, at a number of its stores.
A mobile service, PDSA PetCheck involves veterinary nurses giving free wellbeing checks to dogs from vans and offering care advice for other pets. The nurses will check the health of each dog, including their weight, eyes, ears, coat and general fitness.
The Pet Hut also plans to provide information points in all of its stores to offer help and advice to shoppers on how to look after their animals.
To mark the alliance, The Pet Hut has pledged to raise over £50,000 for the charity over the coming 12 months through a fundraising drive in all The Pet Hut stores.
The partnership follows the news that Poundstretcher is to open its 100th The Pet Hut in Chesterfield on 18 September. The retailer has opened 25 The Pet Hut stores in the past nine months.
Ian York, managing director for Poundstretcher and The Pet Hut, said: “This is an exciting partnership for both us at The Pet Hut and for PDSA as, as we grow our business, the more opportunities there will be to raise money for their excellent cause. Our stores are opening across the UK every single month, with our 100th store a real flagship moment for us.
“Now we don’t just offer great prices on petcare, but we can offer qualified advice too through our special information points.”
