The Entertainer crowned Family Business of the Year at Red Ribbon Awards
Toy retailer The Entertainer has been crowned Family Business of the Year at this years Red Ribbon Awards.
The retailer’s managing director Gary Grant was presented with the Family Business Place award at a glamorous awards evening held at London’s Goldsmiths' Hall last week.
The awards recognise the achievements of family businesses across the UK and the contribution they make to the country’s economy.
The Entertainer has also recently been named as Zolfo Cooper 'Growth Retailer of the Year' for 2014 and has been crowned as 'Best Online Retailer' at the toy industry awards for the last two years running.
The retailer’s success comes after it announced record-breaking results and plans for major expansion earlier this year.
In March The Entertainer reported its fifth year of top-line growth with profits increasing by 16% to £5.96 million in its 2013/14 financial year. With 89 stores across the UK, The Entertainer attributed the performance to strong like-for-like sales, careful cost control and a drive for efficiency.
Last year, The Entertainer made its overseas debut by launching its first store in Dubai in partnership with franchisee Al Owais.
