Beauty and wellbeing retailer The Hut Group has acquired two luxury boutique hotels through the purchase of the Eclectic Hotel Group.

The Hut Group acquires Eclectic Hotel Group

Beauty and wellbeing retailer The Hut Group has acquired two luxury boutique hotels through the purchase of the Eclectic Hotel Group.

The King Street Townhouse and Great John Street Hotel are both situated in the centre of Manchester and also include events and entertaining space.

The acquisition follows The Hut Group’s purchase of the premium Hale Country Club & Spa in July 2016. The group said the new hotels will help drive an increase in customer engagement.

Matthew Moulding, founder and chief executive of The Hut Group, said: “As a fast-growing, brand-led business we are always looking to develop innovative approaches to drive greater engagement with our customers and today’s acquisition is testament to that strategy. With consumer behaviour continuing to evolve away from the traditional high street setting, these two highly prestige hotels will be instrumental in showcasing our leading beauty and wellbeing brands.”

The hotels were bought from Eclectic Hotel Group’s founders Eamonn and Sally O’Loughlin who will continue to own and manage Didsbury House Hotel and Eleven Didsbury Park, both of which were hived out the Eclectic Group prior to the completion of the sale.

The investment will be supported by a £10 million refurbishment programme.
