Tesla speeds into Bluewater
Situated in the lower Rose Gallery, adjacent to John Lewis and Ernest Jones, the store is one of only a handful of larger format designs in the UK and enables Bluewater shoppers to test drive the new Tesla Model S and also showcases the Model S rolling chassis to demonstrate the technology. The store also includes a Model S design studio.
In addition, Tesla has installed five Tesla Supercharger bays, located in the lower yellow car park by the entrance to the Plaza Welcome Hall. The Superchargers are a permanent addition to Bluewater and form part of Tesla’s network in the UK that currently consists of more than 30 locations, with over 130 individual stations from Edinburgh to Exeter. Tesla also recently launched its Destination Charging network as it looks to offer more locations to charge on the go within the UK and Europe.
Russell Loveland, portfolio director at Land Securities, said: "We are very excited to welcome Tesla. The innovation and experience the brand evokes for guests reflects that of our own at Bluewater and highlights the demand by leading brands and technologies. The permanent Tesla charger bays, which combined with our own electric charge points only add to the unique offer here at Bluewater."
Tesla joins the new Australian tea specialist, T2 that opened a 1,500 square foot store on the Upper Thames Walk in the same week at Bluewater. Situated opposite Bose, the store was created by an in-house team of designers.
