Tesco's Per Bank to become CEO of Dansk Supermarked

Per Bank, Tesco’s UK commercial director for non-food, telecoms and online, is to join Danish food retailer Dansk Supermarked as its new CEO.

He will take up his new role on 1 April and will succeed Erling Jensen who is retiring after 35 years with the company.

Bank joined Tesco in April 2009 as CEO Hungary and moved to his present role at the supermarket in March 2011. Prior to joining Tesco, he was CEO of Coop Denmark.

Commenting on the appointment, a spokesman for Dansk Supermarked said: "We have the best possible man for the job. Per Bank has shown that he can deliver results and momentum in large and complex organizations. His thorough knowledge of the retail industry at home and abroad is a great strength of the Dansk Supermarked."
