Tesco's Jason Tarry takes over as fundraising president at GroceryAid
GroceryAid, the charity for the UK grocery and FMCG marketplace, has announced that Tescos Jason Tarry has become the new president of the GroceryAid fundraising committee.
Speaking about his new role Tarry said: “I am delighted to be taking on this role on behalf of Tesco, GroceryAid does brilliant work on behalf of the industry and we are proud to continue our long standing relationship.”
Tarry joined Tesco in October 1990 through a graduate recruitment programme and held a number of positions in both the food and non-food commercial divisions before being promoted to commercial director for UK general merchandise in 2005. In 2008, he took on responsibility for clothing across Central Europe and Turkey as well as the department store operation in the Czech and Slovak Republics.

This was followed by his appointment to the executive board as chief commercial officer in January 2015.
Gillian Barker, director general of GroceryAid, said, “We are delighted that Jason has joined GroceryAid as our President of Fundraising and that Tesco is continuing its great support of the charity. With Jason on board it gives us a great opportunity to build on our fundraising base and help even more grocery people in need.”
