Tesco to accept Sainsburys Brand Match coupons
Tesco has announced that from today customers shopping in Tesco stores will be able to use Sainsburys Brand Match coupons to get money off their Tesco shopping.
The move follows a recent announcement by Sainsbury's that it will be ending its Brand Match scheme and replacing it with lower regular prices on popular everyday products such chicken, bread, cheese, fresh produce and household cleaning items. The supermarket will issue the last Brand Match coupons on Tuesday 26 April.
In a statement, Tesco said the coupons could be used at Tesco stores until June.
Matt Davies, Tesco UK and ROI chief executive, explained: “This is a little help for Sainsbury's customers from us at Tesco. It also provides the opportunity for Sainsbury’s customers to experience Tesco’s Brand Guarantee, which we launched in October, and has been universally welcomed by our customers."
In October last year, Tesco launched its Brand Guarantee scheme that offers shoppers an immediate price match deduction at its tills without the need to issue vouchers. The scheme compares the overall cost of a customer’s branded grocery shop against what it would have cost at Asda, Morrisons and Sainsbury’s.
