Tesco promotes Michael Comish to role of group digital officer
Tesco has promoted Blinkbox founder Michael Comish to the role of group digital officer.
Previously the chief executive of Tesco digital entertainment, Comish will help oversee the supermarket’s multi-channel strategy in his new role and develop a more customer led approach to its online products services.
Comish will lead a team of over 300 people based at Tesco’s new digital offices in London which are due to open in the autumn.
Having co-founded Blinkbox in 2006, Comish sold the company to Tesco in May 2011. Prior to Blinkbox, he was managing director of 4 Services at Channel 4 and helped found online video company AtomFilms which merged with Showckwave.com to become AtomShockwave. The business was eventually sold to Viacom for $200 million in 2006.
