Steamer Trading sails into WestQuay
Steamer Trading Cookshop is to open a new store at Southampton’s WestQuay shopping centre.
The retailer has taken a 3,200 square foot store on the centre’s upper level near Marks & Spencer. Due to open later this month, the store is the retailer’s second in a non-high street location.
Ben Phillips, managing director of Steamer Trading Cookshop, said: “The creation of a new store at WestQuay is very exciting news for Steamer Trading Cookshop. We have had a long-held desire to open a store in what is a very strong region for us, but finding the right location was key. With WestQuay, we have everything we need and join an already strong mix of brands in a centre with true regional appeal.”
Steamer Trading Cookshop is the latest in a series of brands to sign for stores at the Hammerson operated shopping centre in the last 12 months. These include Fat Face, Jack Wills, Cath Kidston, White Stuff, Superdry, Boux Avenue, Timberland, and Pravins.
Sarah Mander, assistant director for retail leasing at Hammerson, said: “The signing of Steamer Trading Cookshop is yet another affirmation of WestQuay’s position as the dominant centre in the region. Over the last year, we have added significantly to the centre’s line-up of premium brands, with Steamer Trading Cookshop adding to WestQuay’s long list of the very best aspirational retailers and restaurants.”
