Sports Direct to open budget gyms
Sports Direct has unveiled plans to open a chain of low cost gyms across the UK.
The sportswear retailer is planning to open 200 gyms where membership will cost as little as £5 per month with a joining fee of £10.
The retailer is currently rebranding 30 gyms that it has recently acquired from LA Fitness. The first Sports Direct gyms will open in Liverpool and Keighley.
Sports Direct said: "Our gym memberships will offer fantastic value for money in the same way that our customers have come to expect from our retail outlets and our website.
"This will be affordable fitness on an unprecedented scale. It will revolutionise the market by making private gym membership a realistic lifestyle choice for millions of people."
