Smythson appoints design director
Smythson, the luxury leather goods retailer, has appointed Rory OHanlon to the new position of design director.
O'Hanlon joins Smythson from Coach, the US handbag and accessories brand, where he was divisional vice president. Prior to Coach, O'Hanlon worked with a number of luxury brands including Céline, Jil Sander, Burberry and Gucci.
At Smythson, O'Hanlon will be responsible for the design direction across all product categories and will provide "strong leadership" to the Smythson design team.
Commenting on the appointment, Andy Janowski, Smythson CEO, said: "I am thrilled that Rory is taking the lead in design for Smythson. The new position of design director will be instrumental in fulfilling our strategic objectives and supporting long-term growth for the brand.
"Rory’s creativity and vast experience in the luxury accessories industry will be critical to unleashing the brand’s innate potential and consolidating Smythson as the iconic British luxury leather goods brand."
