Sloggi hires Alex Cara as general manager for UK, Nordics and Benelux

The Sloggi underwear brand has appointed Alex Cara to the position of general manager for the UK, Nordic countries and Benelux.

Due to join the business in September, Cara has 30 years’ experience in retail in various countries across Europe. Previous roles include retail director for Nike Central & EMEA and a number of global positions in general management with brands such as Esprit and New Look.

Most recently, he held the position of senior vice president at the Pandora Group where from Copenhagen he managed over 1,000 stores in 39 countries.

Cara will be based at Sloggi’s London headquarters where he will drive the company's growth plans over the next year and beyond.

Commenting on his appointment, Cara said: “It’s an incredibly exciting time for the Sloggi brand, with the new brand vision and strategy ramping up in 2018 and several global launches of new product innovations in the pipeline. I can’t wait to join the team and help cement Sloggi’s vision of becoming the world’s most revered everyday comfort brand.”
