Skinny Lager launches into Asda

Skinny Lager continues its rapid growth with another national listing, having secured the launch of its four pack SKUs into 436 Asda stores across the UK.

Manufactured by British-based SkinnyBrands, the low calorie, full flavour lager is already available in major supermarkets, selected bars and restaurants and through wholesalers including Bestway, Booker and HB Clark.

The latest deal for the brand comes from an increasing demand from consumers for more choice when it comes to alcohol with functional benefits. With two thirds of the country on a diet ‘most of the time’, the demand for full flavour, full strength, low calorie lager has led to increased interest from yet another major supermarket.

Tom Bell, SkinnyBrands director and co-founder, said: “The public is becoming increasingly aware of the need to make better choices regarding alcohol. Skinny Lager meets the need for great tasting lager that doesn’t compromise on flavour or strength, but is still low in calories, sugar and carbs.

“Since launching in 2016, we have received a positive response from both stockists of Skinny Lager, and the public, with stock flying off shelves. This latest listing has reinforced the message that the public want and need more choice when it comes to alcohol products. They no longer want to sacrifice strength or flavour for their diet.

“Alongside this is the growing number of people who, for either lifestyle of health reasons, have gone gluten free or vegan. No other product on the market caters to all of these groups.”
