Selfridges Manchester store refurbishment creates 100 jobs
Selfridges is to create 100 jobs as part of a £20 million refurbishment programme at its Manchester city centre store.
The staff will work in the store’s new beauty department which opens at the end of September, as well as in a new accesories department due for completion in December.
General manager Jane Sharrocks told the Manchester Evening News: “In line with Selfridges' core value 'everyone is welcome', previous experience is not essential and future employees are expected to be confident, dynamic and enthusiastic about creating an extraordinary shopping experience for customers."
The retailer said it was working closely with local colleges and universities to encourage their students to apply for the roles at the store.
The two new departments form part of the first stage of a seven year store refurbishment programme that will also include a transformation of the ladieswear and menswear departments.
