Secret Sales hires Melanie Traub as chief commercial officer

Designer fashion flash sale site Secret Sales has appointed Thomas Pink’s Melanie Traub as chief commercial officer.

The news follows the announcement that the business has achieved a quarterly result of 80% growth year-on-year.

Traub joins the business from Thomas Pink where she worked for 10 years as global buying, merchandising and distribution director. Prior to Thomas Pink, Traub worked at Asprey & Garrard, Kookai and Marks & Spencer.

In her new role, Traub will lead the strategic commercial development at Secret Sales to drive further growth and sales.

In a statement co-founders Nish Kukadia and Sach Kukadia said: “Melanie is a pivotal appointment for us and she is final member to join the recently expanded senior management team, including chief financial officer, Will Dresner, chief marketing officer, Robert Moss and chief technology officer, Douglas Squirrel.

“As Secret Sales continues to post record results while also rolling out key development, product and marketing initiatives, now is the right time to review and redefine our commercial strategy. We welcome Melanie and look forward to delivering an even stronger second half of 2013.”

Traub added: “Joining such a well-known and highly-regarded flash sale business, is a really exciting prospect. My background working with leading retail brands attracted me to Secret Sales who offer such a great range of luxury and high street brands, and I am very much looking forward to leading the company’s commercial development.”
