Scotmid unveils new look store
In what is a major modernisation of the Scotmid brand, the retailer said the new look store features a number of major changes and new services including the introduction of Costa Express, more fresh fruit and vegetables, a bakery, a larger chilled section, and an increase in the width of aisles for an easier shopping experience. The exterior of the store has also changed and includes a subtle modification to the Scotmid logo.
Kimberley Guthrie, marketing director at Scotmid Co-operative said: "Scotmid is an iconic brand and with nearly 200 food stores throughout Scotland we are recognised as being at the heart of the communities we serve. We have a constant two way dialogue with that customer base and in listening to them we have introduced a number of new initiatives at Warrender Park that could become the template for many of our stores.
"This is part of a new era for Scotmid – an era that will see us develop stores that create a great new shopping experience and will keep us at the forefront of the convenience market in Scotland."
