Schuh kicks off with Shutl

Footwear retailer Schuh has become the latest retailer to sign up to the Shutl same-day, same-hour delivery platform that connects multi-channel retailers with local same-day courier companies.

Schuh customers can now get online orders delivered within a matter of minutes, or choose a convenient one-hour window. The service is available in and around 51 towns and cities across the UK, seven days a week, for a fixed price at launch of £4.99.

Sean McKee, head of e-commerce and customer services at Schuh, said: “We see speed and convenience as increasingly key in the battle for customers in this market, and so we are delighted to be partnering with Shutl.

“Their industry-leading proposition complements our ability to fulfil orders from stores in real time and makes practical sense. Most importantly, it further extends our same and next day service offer.”

Schuh is the first retailer to integrate the Shutl “price calendar” – a new user interface that merchants can drop into their checkout, allowing shoppers to quickly and easily view the full range and price of Shutl delivery windows available over a number of days.

Tom Allason, Shutl founder and chief executive, said: “To date, customer convenience has been considered the preserve of the major supermarkets, all of whom own their own supply chain.

“This development is a quantum leap forward by comparison, setting a whole new benchmark in online customer experience. Any multi-channel retailer can now attract, convert and retain more shoppers by putting customer convenience at the very heart of their value proposition.”
