Sales up at Mulberry
Fashion group Mulberry has reported 14 per cent sales growth to £58.6m, but a £1m fall in profit before tax to £4.2m, for the year ending 31 March. The group increased wholesale sales by 15 per cent during the period.
"We have achieved another year of strong sales growth, delivering an increase of 14% for the year. These results reflect the continued investment in the brand. With our strong balance sheet we are well placed to continue to build Mulberry as a global brand. The current financial year has started well," says Mulberry chairman and chief executive Godfrey Davis.
UK retail sales for the first 10 weeks of the current financial year are up by 26 per cent, or 21 per cent like-for-like, says Davis.
