Sainsbury's relaunches its Trainee Manager Scheme
The supermarket chain says successful applicants will enjoy a fast-track year-long training programme with an emphasis on learning on the job.
Trainees will experience working in nearly very area of a Sainsbury's store before beginning a 12 week stint managing their own department.
Throughout this process the trainees are mentored by a Sainsbury's Store Manager until they are ready to become a Department Manager.
Gwyn Burr, Sainsbury's Customer Service and Colleague Director, said: "We are delighted to be able to offer these opportunities. Successful candidates will enjoy an unrivalled training programme that will equip them with everything they need for a successful career with Sainsbury's. Trainees will be exposed to every aspect of running a successful Sainsbury's store and will quickly be managing their own team, making decisions that will make a real difference to thousands of customers each week."
He added: "Sainsbury's is an exciting, fast-paced and dynamic company that has a tradition of promoting from within. A third of our Store Managers started with us before their 19th birthday, showing that if you work hard and have a genuine desire to succeed you will quickly rise to the top."
Sainsbury’s says the Trainee Manager scheme is open to anyone with two A-levels who has a passion for retail and customer service. Successful applicants will enjoy a starting salary of £17,500 22 days holiday, a colleague discount card and eligibility for the Sainsbury's bonus scheme.
