Sainsbury's enters toy price war
Sainsburys has joined the Christmas toy price war by announcing that it is halving the price of its toys in a week long promotion.
The offer launches today in more than 400 Sainsbury’s supermarkets and will apply to every toy in store. The retailer said the promotion represents potential savings of £18 million.
Robbie Feather, Sainsbury's general merchandise director, said: "We know that Christmas can be an expensive time of year and budgets are stretched. This is a great opportunity for people to get their hands on some of this year's must-have toys at incredibly low prices.
"Whether opting for traditional, nostalgic, high-tech or the latest TV character, there's something for everyone. The only thing to worry about will be finding somewhere to keep them hidden from prying eyes!"
Sainsbury's predicts the Lego Cars 2 Ultimate Build Francesco will be its top selling toy this Christmas, and that Dance Star Mickey and the Octonauts Gup A Mission Vehicle will also be popular.
The retailer's top ten predictions are as follows:
1 ego Cars 2 Ultimate Build Francesco
2 Nerf Vortex Proton
3 Transformers 3 Megatech Deluxe
4 Moshi Monsters Gold Collection Tin
5 Zhu Zhu Pets Puppies
6 Zoobles Under Water Play Set
7 Club Penguin Puffle
8 Octonauts Gup A Mission Vehicle
9 Dance Star Mickey
