Rhug Estate celebrates most successful Christmas to date

Online premium food retailer Rhug Organic Estate has reported its most successful Christmas to date with turkey sales rising 35% on last year.

Meat sales were up by 10% over the festive period compared to Christmas 2012, with turkeys selling out by 13 December. The retailer said it received orders from as far afield as the Middle East and Hong Kong.

Rhug Estate owner Lord Newborough put much of the success down to the quality of products. He said: “Christmas 2013 saw our Organic Dee Valley Turkey as the fullest figured bird we’ve ever had, and we’re confident it was the highest quality bird on the market.

“Our organic hand-reared turkeys are produced in the most natural way; living outdoors on rich fertile pastures, and sleeping indoors in spacious turkey barns. We believe that this natural breeding process means we are producing the finest organic meat in the UK, whilst remaining a trusted organic supplier to all of our customers.”
