Record-breaking week for John Lewis
The company says that a number of branches broke all time or pre-Christmas sales records including Bluewater, Kingston, Southampton, Cambridge, Solihull, Norwich and Leicester. Sales for week 19 totalled £121.03 million, compared to last year’s £110.04 million.
JL.com also performed strongly, up 45% on last year, with customers demonstrating their commitment to multi channel with over 40,000 Click and Collect transactions.

Electrical assortments continued their run of strong sales with IT, vision and large electrical all delivering increases in excess of 15 per cent. Computers and TVs were in high demand along with gift items.
Fashion set a record, too, performing well across the board with childrenswear and menswear continuing their recent run of success. Toys, babywear, haberdashery and girlswear all set sales records.
