QVC launches new channel on Freeview
TV shopping channel QVC UK has announced the launch of its new QVC Extra channel on Freeview.
Available 24 hours a day, QVC Extra will broadcast one-hour long themed or branded programmes on Freeview channel 57.
Through a carriage agreement with Comux UK, QVC Extra, which was previously only available on Freeview for viewers with internet connected TV, will now reach an additional 12.3 million households.
QVC UK chief executive Dermot Boyd said: “With the launch of QVC Extra we now have three QVC UK channels broadcasting on Freeview, providing 12.3 million households with the opportunity to see our best products in case they missed them the first time around.
“Through Comux’s unique broadcast model, we are supporting the UK’s new local TV stations in delivering regional local news and relevant content to their audiences.”
