Pullingers Art Shop crowned as Kingston's favourite independent retailer
Pullingers Art Shop has been crowned Kingstons favourite independent retailer after members of the public were invited to cast their vote on Kingstonfirsts Facebook page.
The shop, which has been selling art and craft supplies in the town’s Fife Road since 2000, will feature alongside 19 other top retailers in a Kingstonfirst guide to the town’s top independent stores to be launched later this year.
This will include a map and trail for shoppers to follow as well as QR codes linking them to individual videos showcasing the independent shops.
Anja Piotrowski, PR & marketing assistant at Pullingers Art Shop, said: “Pullingers is absolutely thrilled to have been voted Kingston’s top independent retailer. We are extremely grateful to our loyal customers.
“A big ‘thumbs up’ to Kingstonfirst for organising the competition and for raising awareness of arts and culture in Kingston with their many events and festivals. Independent stores bring a unique quality to the Town Centre and make Kingston the great place that it is."
Ros Morgan, chief executive at Kingstonfirst, added: “Pullingers Art Shop was a clear winner in our survey and we congratulate them on their achievement.
“We are fortunate to have over 200 independent businesses in the town centre. They play a critical role in the community as well as the local economy. Their diversity and character also contributes greatly to the Kingston shopping experience, making them increasingly important in the battle to attract shoppers away from their computers and into the town centre.”
Kingstonfirst is also sponsoring the ‘Best Independent Retailer’ category of Kingston’s Business Excellence Awards and Pullingers will be fast tracked in to this year’s awards following the win.
