Pride in London opens Soho pop-up

Pride in London has launched a pop-up in London’s Soho in the run-up to the city’s Pride Festival.

Remaining open for a month, the pop-up has taken over shop space donated by Shaftesbury at 72 Old Compton Street.

Featuring the theme Pride Matters, the shop will sell the official new range of Pride in London merchandise including clothing, mugs and tote bags, as well as festival tickets and Pride Matters wristbands. In addition, the shop will be the collection point for festival participants needing to collect their wristbands.

Kieron Yates, head of retail and merchandising for Pride in London, said: “We’re really excited to have this fantastic summer space right in the centre of Soho this year so come and buy your official Pride threads. While you’re here chat to the team who will be on hand to help you with all that information about the Pride Festival and the big day.”

The store will also act as a community hub and safe space throughout the festival month and will host a series of talks and workshops.

Brian Bickell, chief executive Shaftesbury, said: “A community hub in the heart of Soho on 72 Old Compton Street, the official Pride pop-up will be a welcome addition to London’s most diverse and vibrant district. We are proud to support Pride for the fourth year running across our locations in Soho, Carnaby and Seven Dials.”
