Premium brands commit to Meadowhall
Flannels, Neal’s Yard, Godiva, Tag Heuer and Nespresso have all signed up to take space at the Meadowhall shopping centre this year.
In addition, House of Fraser, All Saints, Hugo Boss and Hollister have announced that they will be refurbishing their stores.
The lettings and refurbishments come as the centre undergoes a £60 million transformation and follows a £16 million investment made by 42 brands that have redesigned stores since the start of the centre refurbishment in 2016. A further 31 store reformat projects are currently taking place which are due to complete in line with the culmination of the refurbishment programme towards the end of the year.
Richard Crowther, asset manager for British Land, said: “Our strategy is to ensure Meadowhall’s offer reflects consumers’ changing modern lifestyles. Attracting these premium brands to the line-up achieves this objective and is a great endorsement of the enhanced environment we and our occupiers are creating at the centre.”
In addition to the latest signings, River Island will be upsizing and refurbishing its existing store to create a new 21,000 square foot unit.
The news follows a strong period of leasing at Meadowhall with the announcement of new retail signings and upsizes for Primark, Sports Direct, Wilko, Timberland, Schuh Kids and Second Cup in the last six months.
