PopUp Britain joins ATCM's family of programmes
Pop-up shop initiative PopUp Britain is to extend its reach to more UK high streets after signing a deal to become part of the Association of Town & City Management.
Having started out as the retail arm of national enterprise campaign StartUp Britain, Pop-Up Britain’s co-working model aimed at supporting start-up retailers will now sit alongside ATCM’s other programmes which include supporting Town Teams & BIDs, and the Purple Flag and Digital High Street campaigns.
Martin Blackwell, chief executive of the ATCM said: “Bringing PopUp Britain under the ATCM umbrella makes so much sense on many levels. The synergies across programmes make this a fantastic acquisition.”
StartUp Britain co-founder Emma Jones added: “PopUp Britain has been an out-and-out success, and in 18 months more than 350 new retailers have had a taste of the high street as a result, with one in three saying they would like to open their own independent outlet. Collaborating with the ATCM is a good move for the brand."
