Peacocks selects GSI Commerce for next-generation e-commerce solution

Partnership with leading UK fashion value retailer expanded and extended eight years; new services added.

GSI Commerce Inc has extended and expanded its partnership with Peacocks to provide a comprehensive e-commerce solution including web technology, web store design, fulfilment, order process
ing, and call centre services.

GSI Commerce has provided Peacocks with fulfilment and customer service solutions since September 2007 and Peacocks have now decided to expand their partnership in a bid to aggressively grow its online channel. Under the eight-year agreement, GSI will now provide a full service e-commerce solution, set for launch in early 2010.

Tim Bettley, managing director of Peacocks commented: “It's safe to say that our existing web store has been very successful but, in order to take our offering to the next level, we recognised that we needed a partner with the expertise, resources, enterprise technology and operational capability to run a major online flagship store. We considered other providers, however, GSI was the obvious fit for us. GSI's 'percent of sales' business model immediately improved our profitability while avoiding costly capital expenses.”
