Paul Smith profits up by a third
Fashion company Paul Smith has achieved a 36% increase in pre-tax profit according to accounts filed at Companies House.
The company founded by fashion designer Sir Paul Smith in 1970 saw pre-tax profit rise to £34.1 million in the year to 30 June on turnover up 12% to £196 million. Like-for-like sales increased by 5% in the period.
The company grew it Japanese licensing income by 5% despite a "very difficult" year following the earthquake and tsunami in March. UK sales rose by 7%.
Paul Smith operates 21 stores in the UK and 132 overseas.
