Past Times to be put into administration

The owner of Past Times has confirmed that the gift retailer will be put into administration in the New Year following worse than expected pre-Christmas trading.
The board of Epic Private Equity said it will appoint administrators to the retailer which operates 100 stores throughout the UK. The move could result in up to 1,000 jobs being put at risk.
Christmas trading at Past Times, which sells gifts inspired by past eras, was below expectations despite heavy discounting and the promotion of Downton Abbey-themed memorabilia.
