Palace co-founder Marshall Taylor joins Navabi board
Plus size fashion retailer Navabi has appointed Marshall Taylor, the co-founder of streetwear label Palace, as chairman of its advisory board.
Having taken up his new role earlier this month, Taylor will be based in London and will be focusing on the brand’s business intelligence and ecommerce strategy.
Taylor co-founded Palace in 2012 but left after rapid five-year growth to enable him to devote time to new projects. The brand has a number of celebrity fans including the likes of Rihanna, Jay Z and Kanye.
Alongside his role at Navabi, Taylor will continue to work as a director of skateboard retailer Slam City and as a director and shareholder of the Leyton Orient football club where he recently served as interim chief executive.
Commenting on his new role, Taylor said: “I’ve always invested in companies or founded start-ups in niche segments that are often underserved or ignored by existing players within the wider marketplace; I think the women's plus size fashion market is a perfect example of this. I believe Navabi is ideally positioned and I’m looking forward to the challenge of expanding the success achieved to date as they grow rapidly across international markets.”
Navabi carries over 100 brands, including its own labels, and operates in around 40 markets.
