Orlebar Brown appoints former Joseph CEO as chairwoman
Orlebar Brown, the luxury mens swimwear brand, has appointed former Joseph chief executive Sara Ferrero as its chairwoman.
Italian born Ferrero headed up Joseph for five years during which time the luxury fashion brand grew its business in Europe, the US and Japan and also entered new markets such as Russia, China and the Middle East. Prior to Joseph, Ferrero ran the Italian accessories brand Furla after spending her early career at McKinsey & Co.
Commenting on her appointment Ferrero said: "I’m excited to join Adam and the team at Orlebar Brown. By pioneinering the luxury resort lifestyle market and exporting it worldwide, Orlebar Brown has already achieved so much in its short history. I’m looking forward to helping the brand build on its remarkable success."
Launched in 2007 by Adam Brown and Julia Simpson-Orlebar, Orlebar Brown has four standalone stores in UK and sells online to more than 100 countries worldwide, with approximately 30% of sales coming from the US.
In 2013 the company secured investment from consumer brands specialist Piper to help it expand its international presence.
Brown said: "We are delighted to welcome Sara as chairwoman. She is widely respected in the fashion industry and has an enviable track record in growing luxury designer brands. Her experience and insights will be invaluable as Orlebar Brown enters its next stage of development."
