Ocado expands delivery coverage
Ocado said it will start delivering in the south west of England and south Wales next year after buying a small distribution site near Bristol.
Ocado said the new site will open up its services to 1.5 million households in Bath, Bristol, Cardiff and surrounding areas and will create up to 100 jobs.
The business, which recently listed on the London stock market with a value of just under £1 billion, carries more than 20,000 product lines including Waitrose and John Lewis-branded goods, alongside a growing own-label range.
Andrew Bracey, chief financial officer of Ocado, said: "Our new distribution spoke site in the Bristol area will enable Ocado to service another 1.5 million households in Bath, Bristol, Cardiff and surrounding areas.
"It will bring approximately 100 jobs to the region and we expect to be operational in March of next year. We are delighted to be coming to the Bristol area."
