Nisa staff donate £65k to charities
Staff at Nisa Retail’s Member Support Centre based at Normanby Enterprise Park chose 124 different charities and good causes which benefited from £300 each.
The money was raised through the company’s Making a Difference Locally charity which raises money by shoppers purchasing specific products in store with a percentage going into a virtual fund to be donated to worthy causes or charities.
One of the most popular causes was Crosby Junior Football Club which benefited from £2,100.
Kate Carroll, MADL charity manager, said: “As one of Scunthorpe’s largest companies, we’re proud to be able to support the local community, and over the years we have donated around £350,000 to the area through Making a Difference Locally.”
Other Scunthorpe organisations which benefited from the fundraising included The Forge project, Lindsey Lodge Hospice, Scunthorpe Beekeepers Society and Suicidal or Bereavement Support.
