National Skills Academy for Retail offers access to training funding

The National Skills Academy for Retail is offering small and medium-sized retailers help in accessing up to £1,000 of financial support for leadership and management training.

The Regional Leadership and Management Advisory Service (LMAS), funded by the Skills Funding Agency, is offering businesses the match-funded grant to spend on training to improve how managers run their teams and business.

The National Skills Academy for Retail is encouraging retailers to apply for the grant for their management training courses You and your team and Frontline Management Solutions.

You and your team is a Mary Portas master class, aimed at giving retailers the knowledge, skills and tools necessary to compete in today’s tough retail landscape. The one-day training session looks at effective leadership styles and addresses practical issues in recruiting, training and staff development.

Frontline Management Solutions is part of the new WorldHost customer service training for retail. Designed for managers and supervisors, th one-day course provides practical information which helps attendees do their jobs more effectively to ensure customer service excellence is delivered by their staff.

Jane Rexworthy, Head of the National Skills Academy for Retail said: “Smaller retailers do not have the money to pay for training and are often reluctant to apply for funding because they fear that the application process will be complicated and time consuming. That’s where we come in. We can help retailers access this funding, giving them the opportunity to go on top-class training.”

She added: “Our management training courses are specifically designed for retailers, and provide attendees with tips and advice they can easily put into practice. Helping them manage their teams better and help establish customer service standards across their staff.  Outstanding customer service can make a store shine above its competitors, attracting customers and helping a business grow.”

To be eligible for the grant, retailers must be in England, have between two and 249 full-time employees and be able to show their potential for fast growth. For further information click here
