Multichannel boosts profits for Mountain Warehouse
Wet weather also helped the outdoor gear retailer grow like - for - like revenue by 130.3%
For the year to 28 February, operating profit increased by 44% to £8.2 million on sales up 20% to £91.7 million in the year to February 28.
Mountain Warehouse founder and chief executive Mark Neale said: “We have defied the tough economic trends that have hit the high street and shown that consumers will buy into the right offering of quality products at a competitive price.
“We’ve found that our combination of bricks and clicks has worked together to deliver sales growth.”
The retailer increased the number of branches last year by 23, bringing its total to 186. Further expansion is planned for both the UK and Europe.
