Morrisons' online director George Dymond resigns
MorrisonsÂ’ new online operations director George Dymond is understood to have resigned just weeks after joining the supermarket.
Dymond began working at Morrisons earlier this month after being recruited to oversee the supermarket’s new online grocery business.
According to reports by Reuters and the Financial Times, Dymond resigned from his role at the weekend after he found that it did not meet his expectations. However, it has also been reported that he is still contractually employed by the supermarket and that he is in talks with it about another role.
Morrisons launched its online grocery business in December 2013 and began making its first deliveries across much of the Midlands on 10 January. The new service is aiming to cover half of the UK by the beginning of 2015.
Prior to working with Morrisons, Dymond was group general manager of merchandise at Australian supermarket Coles. He also worked for ten years as trading director at Carphone Warehouse.
