Morrisons' Haycox to head QD Group store operations

Former Morrisons' Operations Controller, David Haycox has joined value retailer QD Stores Group as Operations Director spearheading further management changes at the expanding 48-store Eastern Counties chain.

Morrisons' Haycox to head QD Group store operations

Haycox's 30 year retail career spans trainee to regional management at Safeway plc resulting in 2000 with his undertaking a key role in managing the retailer's corporate stock control and loss prevention needs. He joined Wm. Morrison plc in 2004 as Area Manager for the East of England.

At QD, he takes responsibility for store operations and development at the 48 sites operated by Norwich-based QD across its QD Stores, Cherry Lane Garden Centres, Thingmebob and Lathams store brands.

Commensurate with his appointment, QD has appointed James Collins and Karl Ottolangui as associate directors.Former Head of Buying and with store management expertise, Collins now takes on the role of Associate Director - Trading at QD. He joined the company in 1997.

Also with store management and distribution experience, Ottolangui has been promoted from his role as Distribution Centre Manager to Associate Director - e-Commerce and Distribution, taking in a lead role in the development of QD's new transactional site. 

Commenting on the appointments, QD Commercial Holdings' Group Chief Executive Nick Rubins said, "QD aims to grow its share of the UK's thriving value retail sector via an omnichannel approach combining the attributes and appeal of its high street and out-of-town sites with an online counterpart that can transcend the limitations of physical retailing.

"David, James and Karl bring the requisite blend of skills to expand both online and in-store availability via effective supply chain management driven by clear consumer demand for quality, value-for-money, which in turn forms the trading ethos of our company since we launched in 1985."
