Moonpig appoints Finery founder as managing director

Due to take up his position on 2 July, he will be based at Moonpig’s new head office in London’s Clerkenwell.

Raithatha will succeed James Sturrock who is leaving the business to focus on earlier stage growth companies. Appointed in 2014, Sturrock has been credited with doubling the size of Moonpig’s business and delivering three years of double digit growth.

From 2014 to 2017, Raithatha founded and built the Finery fashion brand. Prior to that, he was chief executive of ecommerce at Rocket Internet and ran TMT investments for a $5 billion hedge fund.

Jody Ford, chief executive of Moonpig owner Photobox Group, said: “Nickyl’s an ideal successor to James. His track record in scaling businesses and passion for data-driven transformation of the customer experience will propel Moonpig forward through the next chapter of its incredible growth story.”

Moonpig is also bolstering its senior leadership team with three new hires.

Ronan Tighe is joining Moonpig in the newly created role of chief product officer after previously heading up product management at Net-a-Porter and Mr Porter.

Meanwhile, Simon Doggett will be taking up the role head of experience design. His prior roles include design leadership positions at Farfetch and M&S.

In the final appointment, Jo McClintock has joined the company as brand marketing director after five years at Lebara, where she led the brand through its sale to a private equity firm.
