Fashion retailer H&M saw its group sales increase by 14% in local currencies in October 2014 compared to the same month last year. The retailer’s total number of stores reached 3,437 on 31 October 2014 versus 3,081 on the same day in 2013.
Lifestyle brand Hunter has chosen London's Regent Street as the location for its first flagship store. The 5,300 square foot shop, which will officially open this week, has been designed by the brand’s creative director Alasdhair Willis in collaboration with design consultancy Checkland Kindleysides.
New research from VoucherCodes.co.uk has shown that British shoppers will spend a total of £7.9 billion on gifts this Christmas. The research, which surveyed over 2,000 UK adults, also found that the average person will spend £550.61 on Christmas festivities.
The study predicts that each person celebrating Christmas will spend £312.49 on preparations for the big day including £194.43 on presents, £29.56 on Christmas dinner, £34.33 on a tree and £29.94 on festive music compilations. In addition, the work Christmas party is deemed to be one of the biggest seasonal expenses with the average Brit set to splash out £46.29 on a new outfit to impress their colleagues, and a further £37.94 on drinks.
