Mobile Fun acquires mobile accessories manufacturer Playfect
In a deal with the previous owner Tool Interactive, the online mobile accessories retailer has bought Playfect's brand, operations and assets.
Operating since 2008, Playfect has supplied large and mid-sized retailers, distributors and OEM brands in more than 30 countries. The acquisition has given Mobile Fun an active global customer base of retailers and distributors as well as the opportunity to develop own brand mobile accessories under the Playfect brand.
Mobile Fun said the China based Playfect team will also be a vital strategic asset for its consumer business and that the retailer will benefit from Playfect’s established sourcing relationships with factories.
Mohammed Hussain, Mobile Fun’s managing director, explained: “The Playfect acquisition accelerates our ambitious growth strategy as it benefits our existing business while jumpstarting our plans to launch own brand accessories. We now have a fully developed product design, sourcing and quality control capability ready to supply the retail and distribution sectors in both the UK and internationally.
“This exciting new development will cement our position as a global online retailer while opening up a host of new opportunities. Our presence in China increases the speed at which we source an even wider range of products, and improves our ability to provide ‘Everything First’.”
