Miuccia Prada becomes co-chief executive of Prada

Luxury fashion brand Prada has confirmed that Miuccia Prada Bianchi has stepped down as chairperson of the board to become the group’s co-chief executive alongside her husband Patrizio Bertelli.

Prada Bianchi will focus on the day-to-day management of the business by devoting her time to “guiding the further development of the group, mainly in the creative design and brands communication activities”, Prada said in a statement.

The Milan-based business added that Prada Bianchi’s new appointment was a natural extension of the role she had already played in the group’s development and would be beneficial to long term growth and progress.

Prada Bianchi will be succeeded as chairperson of the board by Carlo Mazzi, who is currently a Prada executive director and former deputy chairman of the board.
