Miller Harris unveils new concept store

UK fragrance house Miller Harris has opened a new concept store at London’s Canary Wharf.

Fabled Studio, the design consultancy behind the new concept, has created a series of muses that embody different aspects of the Miller Harris world to inspire the design behind the new breed of stores. The Canary Wharf store at Cabot Place features the muse of ‘The Artist’ with perfumes displayed against a backdrop of an art gallery and artist’s studio.

An ever-evolving range of artworks will be featured on the boutique’s walls while perfumes will be displayed on custom-designed plinths wrapped in artists’ canvas and topped with materials that are intrinsic to each individual scent’s story or ingredients.

To add an immersive element to Miller Harris’s retail offering, Fabled Studio has also worked with audio artists to create unique soundscapes for individual fragrances with the aim of offering the customer a sensory experience. In the Canary Wharf store, a standalone sound booth will enable shoppers to listen to melodic interpretations of their favourite scents.

Sarah Rotheram, chief executive of Miller Harris, said: “We were looking for an immersive experience, as choosing a fragrance is such a personal and emotive journey. We wanted to elicit a sensorial response to the fragrance and showcase the storytelling of so many of our perfumes.”

Steven Saunders, co-founder of Fabled Studio, added: “We wanted each Miller Harris store to have a sense of energy and place. The interior experience is immersive and intense – we are giving the customer a full, 360-degree expression of each fragrance. You can see and feel the ingredients and inspiration behind each fragrance, listen to its sound and most importantly, smell each unique scent.”
