McArthurGlen invests Â£1 million in Livingston centre food court
Designer outlet operator McArthurGlen is investing Â£1 million in a revamp of the food court at its Livingston outlet.
The new 20,500 sq ft food court at what is Scotland’s largest designer outlet is due for completion at the end of March 2012. It will seat up to 800 people across 15 eateries including Pizza Express, Caffe Nero and Spud U Like.
McArthurGlen said the work at the food quarter represents the biggest investment in the centre over the past five years, and will help to increase footfall from the current 6 million shoppers each year.
Nick Brady, UK regional leasing manager at McArthurGlen, said "The launch of Livingston’s Food Quarter will help to capture those shoppers looking for fashion, food and entertainment in one location and increase dwell time.
"The new Food Quarter will further establish McArthurGlen’s Livingston as the must-visit retail destination within the Edinburgh, Glasgow and immediate local area, as well as reflecting the increasing trend among shoppers to combine leisure and retail."
The food quarter will consist of three distinct zones: the Pit Stop, with a self-service food counter; the Family Kitchen, with a larger child-friendly, open-plan seated area; and the Dining Lounge, which will feature banquette-style flexible seating arrangements.
