McArthurGlen expands Noventa di Piave designer outlet centre

Construction is now underway on the €50 million expansion of McArthurGlen’s Noventa di Piave designer outlet near Venice.

In addition, Polo Ralph Lauren has become the first brand to sign up for a major store in the new extension which is due to open by the spring of 2017.

Launched in 2008, Noventa di Piave has been extended three times and now welcomes over three million customers a year. The 132 brands at the centre include the likes of Armani, Bottega Veneta, Brioni, Burberry, Fendi, Ferragamo, Gucci, Loro Piana, Marc Jacobs, Prada and Versace.

The new expansion will add a further 6,000 square metres as the centre looks to accommodate an additional 25 stores.

Over the past three years, the centre has recorded a 59% increase in visitor numbers and a 69% increase in sales. Long haul tourist sales represent 25% of the centre’s total turnover.

Julia Calabrese, chief executive of McArthurGlen, said: “We are thrilled to be welcoming Polo Ralph Lauren as the first store in our soon-to-be expanded McArthurGlen Noventa di Piave. Noventa is one of Europe’s most successful designer outlets and a major flagship in the McArthurGlen portfolio of 22 designer outlet centres, including five in Italy.”

The new expansion will also include the centre’s parking space allocation being increased by over a third to a total of nearly 3,500.
