GENERAL MERCHANDISE adds home furnishings range has extended its home improvements offering by adding rugs, blinds and curtains to the site.

The move marks an expansion into five product categories in five months.

The blinds range includes vertical, roller, venetian, wooden and roman styles with a choice of over 350 fabrics and finishes, while the rug collection features both contemporary and traditional designs.

Curtains and curtain accessories complete the ‘Home Furnishings’ product set and are available in ring top and pencil pleat styles with add-on fixtures and poles.

Shane Quigley, chief executive of, said: "Growing from bathrooms into five product categories in five months is a huge achievement for the business and is a credit to the hard work that the team here have put into launching the brand.

“The new ‘Home Furnishings’ range allows us to be relevant for a different type of shopper, providing alternative home updates that can transform a room without committing to significant furniture items. This latest expansion is all part of updating and developing the site and its offering which we will continue over the coming months."

Launched in July, is an online-only home brand, offering furniture and larger home items outside of

Matalan’s existing accessories range. A subsidiary brand of Matalan Retail, operates as a separate online entity.
