Marks & Spencer to open largest ever outlet
The Marks & Spencer Outlet at Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet, near Chester, is being relocated from its current location to a larger, 14,000 sq ft store, formerly the site of the centre’s food court.
With the closure of the food court, Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet will continue with its strategy of interspersing a wide selection of cafes and restaurants across the centre rather than having a special designated ‘food court’ area. Already the centre has such top names as Café Rouge, Starbucks, Pizza Express, Krispy Kreme and Pret A Manger.
Henrik Madsen, McArthurGlen’s Managing Director for the UK & Northern Europe says: “Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet is truly consolidating its position as the UK’s first and largest designer outlet. We are delighted that Marks & Spencer, one of the top British retail brands, has chosen Cheshire Oaks to be the home for its flagship outlet store in the UK. This is testament to our achievements, , in taking the centre from its previous mid-market position to a higher, premium position through enhancing the mix of brands as well as the overall shopping environment and experience.”
Richard Fox, Head of M&S Outlet, says: “We are delighted to be opening a new larger store at Cheshire Oaks. The store is in a great location and will offer customers an extensive range of Marks & Spencer products at significantly reduced prices.”
