Marks & Spencer names Helen Weir as new CFO
Marks & Spencer has appointed the John Lewis Partnerships Helen Weir as its new chief finance officer.
With a start date yet to be confirmed, she will succeed former CFO Alan Stewart who left Marks & Spencer to join Tesco.
Weir is currently chief financial officer at the John Lewis Partnership where she has worked since 2012. Prior to that she was group executive director for retail at Lloyds Banking Group and was previously group finance director of Kingfisher and finance director of B&Q.
Marks & Spencer chief executive Marc Bolland said: “We are delighted to be appointing Helen as CFO. She is extremely well qualified, and brings a wealth of relevant financial, retail and consumer experience. We look forward to her joining the M&S team.”
Weir added: “M&S is one of the UK’s great brands. This is an exciting time to be joining the company and I am delighted to be part of the team.”
